Calls on surfers everywhere to support the conservation and protection of whales and dolphins and other marine wildlife, to protest whaling and the killing of threatened and endangered species, and to end the pollution of our marine environment.

Save Japan Dolphins

The only way to stop the dolphin slaughter is to keep showing up in these remote villages and going on patrol. We will continue monitoring, advocating, filming, and bringing international media attention to the dolphin slaughter and the related captures. One of the main reasons that the killing continues is that very few people – in Japan and around the world – even know it is happening. Worldwide exposure of the slaughter is the key to stopping it.

The Board Art Benefit

the board benefit charity event

The Board Art Benefit is a project designed to bring leading artists and shapers together to create original works of art utilizing surfboards for the purpose of raising support for SurfAid International.

The aim of the Board Art Benefit is to provide a great venue for the participating artists to showcase their work, to provide the public with a great chance to see collections of amazing hand-crafted surfboard art in one place, and to support SurfAid International.

The finished boards will later be auctioned, with the proceeds benefiting SurfAid International.  The final live auction of the finished boards is tentatively scheduled for sometime during the summer of 2012.

The first showing of finished surfboards is scheduled to be held at the Aaron Chang Ocean Art Gallery on Cedros Avenue in Solana Beach on January 21st.

The  event was previously held at the Sacred Craft Surf Expo in Del Mar on October 8-9, 2011. It went off.  You shoulda been there! Check the photos here.
